[It's not exactly the happiest subject matter in the world, but nonetheless it's something that has to be tackled.

The fact that Jaffar almost stabbed someone (again).

So Nino drags Jaffar out with her, to go hunt down Fie. TIME TO MAKE AMENDS.]

[ ugh... he should have known this was coming. Now, Jaffar isn't afraid of Fie in the least - she hasn't actually shown herself to be an enemy, and, in fact, she'd helped him out in the past. She may be a skilled fighter, but she's not antagonistic. Even when they'd fought, Jaffar knew that she was merely trying to stop him from taking a dangerous action. Because of that, he doesn't hold any grudge against her, despite that terrible nut shot she took on him.

But still.

Talking to her again is almost guaranteed to be troublesome, because the injury he inflicted on her was worse than intended. She's small and light, and he's large and sturdy, especially for his age - he can guess that he probably bruised her ribs or something along those lines. In other words, she's going to hold it against him.

Naturally, none of this shows on his face. He's just standing by Nino neutrally, wondering if Fie will even be awake. ]

[ the answer?? Is probably yes, because Fie does answer, and seems to be at least moderately alert.

Although that could be because she recognized Nino's voice, understands instinctively that Jaffar will be with her, and is simply prepared for anything.

But lo, here she is!! ]

Do you mind if we come in...? Um, it's Nino and Jaffar!

[Naturally.

That was obvious, Nino.]

[ well, she's not getting actively angry at him from the get-go, so that's a start. Jaffar just nods his head at her once in greeting, stoic as ever. ]

[ ... She'll step aside then, opening the door a little wider.

...Are you okay, Fie? How are you feeling?

[ i'm sorry you need to be the bridge between these two ellipses losers, nino... jaffar just follows after her, looming over both of them once inside.

Should he say something? Probably, but he has no idea what. This isn't his strong suit... ]

[ Fie and Jaffar are not the wordiest of people, but she sighs after a minute and perches on the edge of her bed. ]

I'm fine. If this is about the whole injury thing, I'm almost healed.

... I'm glad that you're feeling better! But we came to apologize anyway.

[ Jaffar responds after a few seconds. That... isn't really an apology but SHE GOT IN HIS WAY?! he isn't actually very sorry about it. ]

Just temporarily incapacitate me. I get it.

[ really, she does. ]

I shouldn't have underestimated you.

[Nino just...looks from one to the other, brow furrowing a little.

YOU...ASSASSIN CHILDREN ARE BEYOND HER.

Even if, technically, she is also an assassin child.]

[ congratulations on being well-adjusted, nino...

still, Fie's level-headed response, though it would probably be odd to anyone else, is refreshingly understandable to Jaffar. It seems he was wrong about her holding a grudge, and that makes his life easier. ]

You will not underestimate me twice.

[ it's not really a threat, even if it sounds ominous. ]

Underestimating only happens once.

[ But no, she seems to be okay?? Sorry Nino, that these two speak assassin lingo. ]

... I'm not mad. I was just a little annoyed at the time, but it's not like we were trying to kill each other.

at least the two of them seem to have reached an understanding. Jaffar's posture is much more relaxed than it was when he walked in the doorway. ]

... You understand. Good. [ now he doesn't have to worry about having made an enemy. He does sense Nino's confusion, though, and he turns to her. ] She engaged me in battle.

[ A shrug. ] I just wanted to stop him, that's all.

Nino just blinks, still feeling like she missed an entire chapter in the ".... quiet assassins" book here.]

Um... so long as you two are okay, then... I suppose it's fine...?
