week three ❧ saturday
[It doesn't feel real.
It really, really doesn't feel real. But Nino can't stay only with Jaffar. She'll spend the majority of her night with him, naturally, but there are other people she wants to see, other people she wants to speak with--
At least.
That's her intention.
But she can't seem to manage to bring herself to get there--instead, she ends up collapsed in the sand, fingers buried in the grains, and head bowed as she cries.
This is it, after everything--and she doesn't want to die.]

[but Nino is one of those ten people. and that. . . well. that gives her extremely mixed feelings]
[they shouldn't be mixed. she admitted to Jaffar that she'd be upset if Nino died, and she even approached him in an attempt to form some kind of alliance to keep her safe. but they're mixed nonetheless-- irritation at herself for bothering to grow fond, irritation at Laura for being Nino's downfall in the end, and something that's probably the fledgling essence of. . . grief?]
[no. can't be. she hasn't felt grief in years. it's just. . . she's just a little cranky. that's all there is to it]
. . . hey.
[somehow, she manages to keep her voice quiet when she finds Nino collapsed in the sand. there's also a very calculated dispassion in her voice. she isn't about to get emotional. not now. that's what she tells herself]
