Lucina....?
[choo choo Lucina it's Nino! Coming to say farewell! And also because there's something really important she has to clear up.
It's fine.
This is the shortest private convo starter ever.]

Initially, Lucina looks rather quarrelsome. The flames throw weak lights on her face, yellows and golds, highlighting her thunderous frown.
When she looks over at Nino, however, enough changes. Her expression gentles. ]
... Yes, Nino. What can I do for you?

[Nino is too far gone to flinch at foreboding faces by now, at least--if she ever, really, considering Jaffar. But she knows that a lot happened that trial, and...this isn't how she wants Jaffar to be remembered.
She can still remember the things people said about him.
It still hurts her.]
Jaffar is... I don't think he meant to try to make you suspicious like that, and... I just wanted you to know.
[Before they both die tomorrow.]

[ Saying that, Lucina will sit down, inviting Nino to do the same with a gentle smile. She's certainly not about to take out her frustrations with the situation on Nino, the one person who hurt no one. ]
I think it's very commendable of you to do this on his behalf.
[ Her feelings on the situation aren't as positive as all that, but... ]
Please know, when I voted for Laura, my decision had nothing to do with you.

[Nino shakes her head quietly, expression tired and sad.]
Laura...was dangerous for everyone. She wanted to die... she told me so.
[Nino grasps her arms, rubbing them as if cold, even though the warmth of the island stands strong.]
She asked me... if I would kill her and take control of my own fate. But I... I didn't want to.
[... Maybe it would've been better if she had.]

Nino, no. That was never your responsibility. It was wrong of her to lay that at your feet.
[ A moment of hesitation and then she's pulling Nino close, tucking her safely in arm. ]
Listen to me. I know tomorrow is frightening, but take heart. You and Jaffar will be together again.
[ Perhaps this is cruel, even Lucina can't even verify it. Yet, she can't quite stop herself.
... ]
I promise.
